Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Amazon Web Services is the largest cloud platform I’ve worked on, used by billions of customers worldwide to run their infrastructure. I worked on the governance and data management services, where over four years I helped customers keep their environments secure and compliant, with guardrails and controls that let teams go fast without losing oversight.
Working there taught me that the experience starts underneath the surface, in the architecture. Objects customers never see, and how those objects relate to each other, shaped what they met on screen. My role went into understanding that architecture and influencing the API layer, where I stayed close to the customer and advocated for a simpler experience.
Case studies
My time went mostly to two initiatives. myApplications (0 to 1) gave customers an application-centric way to manage and monitor their resources across accounts, regions, and services. The Organizations widget (1 to 100) turned account structure into a shared primitive that any AWS service could build on, giving customers consistency and familiarity across our services.
